Not the ones actually thinking straight. Somewhere along the way "serious" got confused with "always on." Nine till six, five days a week, every decision run past you first, every message answered inside the hour. Nobody built a business to live like that, and yet most of us are running one that demands it.

I don't work that way. I split my time between London and Verbier, where I ski instruct through the winter, and none of that happens if my business only runs when I'm sat at my desk. That's not a lucky exception, it's the point. I've built it, and kept rebuilding it, around the life I actually want.
